Once a year the Bar Hill Fête & Festival is held on this village green. This year's date is on the 8th of July, and we're looking forward to seeing everyone there.
Here's a message from Kate Bennett (Chair) and the whole Fête & Festival Committee;
Greetings, one and all,
Well, here we are in 2023, and we’re proud to announce that the Fête & Festival is back!
Bigger and better, the Bar Hill Village Fête & Festival Committee is happy to advise that this year we are turning the clock back to the 1960s.
The groovy 60s were synonymous with The Beatles, miniskirts, E-type Jag’s, Concord, Flower Power, the first man on the moon and who could forget England winning the World Cup……… A lesser-known, but important fact, it was also when the first residents moved into Bar Hill.
One of our main aims of the Fête & Festival is to get the village residents and surrounding areas to come together and have some fun, have a natter, maybe a drink or two, have some delicious food, enjoy a dance or “chill out man” and listen to some music, and have a great day out.
To make it a success, we hope that you can come and join us on the Village Green from 2 pm.
We would like to say a big THANK YOU, once again, to all of our great sponsors, without whom we couldn’t even consider putting this event on; to the stall holders, the people that run the rides, the bands and the DJ. And finally, a thank you to YOU the locals for your continued support.
Lastly, but by no means least, a little thank you to the volunteers of the Fête & Festival Committee who put together the whole day and for the support of the Bar Hill Community Association.
We hope you have a great day.
This years headlining act at the Festival will be The Dead Geoffrey's.
The Dead Geoffrey’s are 4 men from Cambridge, none of whom are called Geoffrey and all of whom are alive. Individually they have spent their formative years honing their skills as songwriters, producers, performers in their own right. Playing with the great and the good and touring the world, they have lived every moment for music. Being somewhat of a local supergroup, they bring all their combined experience to create the ultimate party band.
Booga: Guitar
Booga is a stunningly talented axe wizard. He has been performing at the highest level since the 1990’s as the better half of Ezio and Booga as well as being a sought after session musician. He has played all over the world.

Ian Jeffs made his mark in the indie scene as the lead singer and songsmith for Twelve Clay Feet, has toured the UK and Europe extensively and brings a true unique rock n roll gravelly vocal to party.
Mark Pickering: Bass/Vocals/Guitar
Founding member of what became Lonely The Brave, a multi-instrumentalist and a genre spanning song writer. Mark hones his extensive live experience and brings energetic performances that leaves nothing on the stage and the divorcees baying for flesh!!!
Ian Griffith: Drums/Vocals
Another multi-instrumentalist and lead singer/songwriter for Mr Griff, Ian has travelled the globe playing drums for countless artists over the years. A singing drummer bringing characterful energy and excellent banter to the show.

Consists of Finn Edmonds on drums & bass, Isaac Warburton on guitar & vocals and Michael Sell on drums. They're all quite multi-instrumental, so they will be alternating between their instruments depending on the songs they've learnt, with Larry and Zane stepping in to support on guitar & vocals in the background.
Some shared musical influences between them surround Arctic Monkeys, Foo Fighters, Nirvana and Tenacious D.
Consists of Alex Pchelintsev on drums (the only Rock School student in this band), Larry on lead/rhythm guitar, Zane on vocals & rhythm guitar, and our friends Julia Teles, Charlie Sivyer and Albert King on vocals, bass and drums respectively. We'll all be supporting Alex, who'll play a few songs, and then Albert will step in on drums for the rest.
Alex's primary influence is Red Hot Chilli Peppers, the rest of us are pretty all-round with classics like Beatles, Smiths, Stones, Zeppelin, Fleetwood Mac, Queen to indie Strokes, Blur and Mazzy Star.
