Fete & Festival Stalls FAQ

This year's Fete and Festival is going to be held on Saturday the 12th July.

How do we access the village green?

Village green access will be via the Village Hall and the Scout Hut entrance. If you are new to the village and search for "Bar Hill Village Hall" in your Maps application, you should find it—this will get you to the car park. You will be met there by a steward who will walk onto the village green.

What time do we arrive to start to set up?

Stall holders can arrive to set up from midday. If you need more time to set up, you can email stalls@barhill-ca.org, and we'll make sure someone is available earlier to manage your entrance.

Do you have any "inside" stall spaces?

Yes. We have about eight spaces in Bar Hill Church, and we have about the same number in the main hall at Bar Hill Village Hall. These spaces are very limited. Please contact us as soon as possible if you would prefer and indoor space. 

Do you provide tables, chairs, gazebos, electricity, etc?

We will always attempt to help where we can; we have access to some tables and chairs but it is a very limited number. If you think you will need to borrow them please let us know well in advance so we can make sure they're available for you. It is unlikely, on the day, that we can sort this out in addition to all the other things we need to do!

What time do we leave?

The event will run until 11 pm, but we appreciate that the vast majority of stallholders will not be interested in staying into the night! Our expectation is that stalls will begin to pack up sometime between 5 and 6 p.m. Generally, it is entirely down to stallholders when they choose to leave, but we do ask that no vehicle movement on the village green takes place without being accompanied by a steward—purely for safety reasons.

If you plan to stay after 6 pm, please let us know, and we'll ensure you are placed in a suitable location so you don't need to move later in the day.

How do I get help on the day?

On the day we will provide stall holders with a contact mobile number to call or, in the event of an emergency, you can always call Andy Pellew (our Chair of Trustees) on 07814 871752.

Can I appear in the programme?

Yes! But you must send the details as early as possible - we print and start selling the programme about a month before the actual event (and on the day as well). Photos work well, but obviously space is limited! Send your information to stalls@barhill-ca.org - website addresses will also be included where possible.

What's the event like on the day?

Can I display a poster?

Yes! Please get in touch with your requirements and we'll provide paper copies of our posters.

How big are the stalls?

It's a large village green and we can be quite flexible. A standard gazebo is around 3 meters by 3 meters (3m x 3m) - we aim for the stalls to be large enough to allow for this. If you need additional space please let us know!
